Baden P Morris, a prominent player in the collectible giftware and baby product markets, has chosen IBS ASW supply chain management software to optimise its warehouse operations and inventory management and deliver improved service to its customers.

As a distributor of renowned product lines such as Avent Naturally, Ronson, Walther Glass, Aztec and Coyote, BPM enjoys high market penetration among Australias leading retailers, pharmacies and direct consumer sales, especially through trade shows where BPM is very active.

However, BPMs future growth and its ability to meet increasing business and client demands were being inhibited by its legacy ERP system. This system had reached its effective life and was proving deficient in a number of key areas that BPM deemed important for its future. In particular, shortcomings in the warehouse management area - such as lack of scan packing functionality - prompted BPM to go to market for a new, more advanced distribution, inventory and warehouse management system.

BPMs new integrated supply chain solution from IBS
BPM has purchased IBS ASW Distribution, a fully integrated supply chain solution that includes EANway, Financials, Manufacturing, Warehouse Management, Inventory Control, Alert Management, Shipment Preparation and Analyser for business intelligence/reporting. Phase two, to be implemented next year, will see the introduction of integrated Radio Frequency (RF) capabilities and functionality to automate the sales force.

Project goals
BPM anticipates the following benefits with its new ASW system:
  1. Improved quality assurance in the warehouses automated pick/pack operations
  2. Maximised customer service
  3. Improved forecasting and optimised inventory management
  4. Introduction of RF terminals with integral bar code scanners, expected to speed up the pick/pack process and further improve warehouse management
  5. Reduced cost of returns processing due to larger proportion of outgoing despatches being accurately checked
  6. Improved ease and accuracy of business analysis and reporting.
To cope with an expanding business we needed a system which would allow us to be proactive rather than reactive. ASW achieves all this and is fully scalable, said Dean Osmond, Managing Director, Baden P Morris.

We are pleased to welcome Baden P Morris into our growing number of consumer durables customer sites in Australia. BPMs decision to choose ASW demonstrates not only IBS proven strength in distribution and supply chain management, but also the IBS solutions flexibility to scale across growing and larger enterprises, said Staffan Wensing, Managing Director, IBS Australia.
