Imaje has added the 5000 series of thermal transfer on-line coders to its already comprehensive product portfolio. This highly flexible solution for printing product information directly onto packaging films combines reliable print engine technology with advanced Windows-based message design.
Printing at a resolution of 300 dpi (12 dots/mm) the thermal transfer on-line coder, available in intermittent, traversing or continuous versions, can be integrated into all types of form, fill and seal machinery and codes all types of packaging film, as well as carton boxes prior to filling. The coder has a choice of several printing areas, varying from 53mm x 107mm to 107mm x 133mmm, allowing messages to range from a simple date to a complete list of ingredients with logos and barcodes.
With the user-friendly backlit touch-screen, simple messages such as use-by-dates can be created directly on the coder. Alternatively, customised logos and fonts, barcodes and other complex graphics can be created using the TTSoft Graphic Editor and downloaded to the coder via a PCMCIA card or RS232 serial connection.
Reliability is ensured by a Kyocera Corner Edge print head, while efficiency is guaranteed with 600 metres of easy loading ribbon.
