VoCognition, Europes largest supplier of voice warehouse systems, today announced its VoiceConnect interface has been certified by SAP AG. VoiceConnect integrates VoCognitions real-time, voice-enabled warehousing solution, the Warehousing Execution System (WES2), with the SAP R/3 software solution. VoiceConnect is integration certified for the latest SAP R/3 Warehouse Management System interface (WM-LSR) Releases 4.0 up to 4.7 based on XML. VoiceConnect can communicate with an SAP R/3-based system using either the SAP Business Connector or the SAP Java Connector.
The VoCognition Warehousing Execution System offers companies improved efficiency in their warehousing operation such as order picking, pick-by-line, goods receiving and other warehouse applications. Its main advantages are reduction of errors, productivity increases, enhanced safety and employee satisfaction.
WES2 supports warehouse employees by freeing their hands and eyes while giving them spoken assignments and enabling them to enter data orally. The employees, wearing a headset and microphone receive their instructions through the Talkman T2 wearable voice terminal by Vocollect. The main advantage of voice in the warehouse is that employees keep their hands and eyes free to perform their jobs.
Picking orders are produced in the SAP R/3 Warehouse Management System, as a part of the SAP Logistics Execution System (SAP LES), and are sent to WES2. Based on requests sent by the Talkman T2, an order is sent to the Talkman T2. The employee executes the order while listening to and speaking with the Talkman T2. The gathered data is sent back in real-time to WES2. From here the data is sent to SAP LES where the data is further processed.
