Waer Systems Launches AeroScape Software for aerospace industry

Waer Systems, a leading provider of  lean techniques, software solutions and consulting services for Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Replenishment Management Systems (RMS) will present the launch of AeroScape, the next generation Replenishment Management System (RMS) that provides unparalled visibility, reach and flexibility for the replenishment of aerospace materials and parts, at this years Farnborough 2004 at the FAC/SEEDA exhibitors stand in Hall 4 Stand E12.

Using IBMs WebSphere, AeroScape has been designed to provide the precise functionality required to meet the unique demands of world-class warehouse management systems (WMS) and VMI solutions, allowing more control over the supply by decreasing reliance on excess inventory and stocks, resulting in significant cost savings estimated to be in the region of millions of pounds.

Some of the core capabilities of this software solution, such as task management, kitting, dynamic bag sizing and on-demand quarantining will be demonstrated in a presentation of a case study on the working partnership Waer Systems undertook with aircraft manufacturer Airbus and aerospace distributor Satair. The AeroScape solution was pioneered by working in partnership with these organisations, as Waer, a company which has been operating as a software and supply chain veteran in the aerospace industry for more than twenty years, saw the increasing need for companies operating within the aerospace industry to increase their capabilities and improve the cost saving element through the implementation of a software solution.

The working relationship between Waer Systems and Airbus resulted in an estimated total cost saving of $15M in two sites alone by undertaking an end to end view of the Airbus supply chain. By examining all the key components Waer Systems was able to provide a comprehensive software solution, to match the improved process and parts flow developed by the Airbus/Waer team.  This achieved increased efficiency, productivity and profitability, to streamline the flow parts, decrease overall stock levels throughout the network, provide increased control and ROI, and provide the ability to better measure vendor performance and parts availabilities.

Will Scott, CEO for Waer Systems commented, Having worked closely with many of the worlds leading aerospace original equipment manufacturers, 3PLs and parts manufacturers, Waer has been able to see precisely how specific process flow changes, stock-level controls and capabilities can dramatically streamline an entire supply chain, providing benefits to all sides of the equation.  With more control, slashed inventory levels and with near zero stock-outs and shortages, more time can be given to adding value to the supply chain, instead of chasing parts.

All these controls and advantages in addition to some aerospace-specific innovations have been built into our new AeroScape suite, and I would strongly recommend that any supplier, 3PL or OEM should allow themselves to see just how AeroScape can deliver significant cost savings to their organisation. continued Will Scott.
