Manhattan Associates, the global leader in supply chain execution (SCE) solutions, has announced that TNT Fashion Group, the European market leader in warehousing and distribution services for the apparel trade, has successfully implemented Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management System (WMS) at its 5,600m distribution centre (DC) in Enschede, the Netherlands. The solutions deployment follows previous successful installations of Manhattan Associates WMS at several TNT Fashion Group sites serving other members of TNTs extensive European customer base.

Oilily, established in 1963 in the Netherlands, distributes its collection of childrens and womens wear primarily throughout Europe, the United States, Japan and Korea to a network of better independent retailers, shop-in-shop locations, and several company-run flagship stores in key European, American, and Japanese markets. Products, manufactured in various locations throughout Europe and Asia, are routed through Enschede, Oililys global DC, for onward distribution to its retail outlets around the world.

Being successful in the todays fashion retail industry is all about speed - the industry has become a fast moving apparel goods market, said Kees Meijer, managing director of TNT Fashion Group. As a provider of logistics services to this industry, we have to be able to handle and move products as quickly as possible. Delivery deadlines are crucial for us and foremost for our clients. Our decision to select Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management System running on IBMs eServer platform has meant we are able to give Oilily maximum service at minimum cost. Integrated with Radio Frequency (RF) technology from Symbol Technologies, the solution has given us access to real-time information and allowed us to achieve extremely high levels of stock and pick accuracy. It has also given us the capability to distribute literally millions of Oililys apparel items every year, as well as the ability to manage their returns.

A further element in the selection of Manhattan Associates solution for Oilily was its ability to be easily integrated with Oililys Enterprise Resource Planning system Microsoft Business Solutions Navision. With the two systems exchanging data, Oilily now has real-time visibility of stock being received at and dispatched from the Enschede DC.

Allen Scott, vice president of European operations at Manhattan Associates, commented TNT Fashion Group and Manhattan Associates share many strengths including a world-class customer base and pan-European fashion distribution expertise. Manhattan Associates leadership in meeting the unique requirements of both the fashion and third party logistics industries will help TNT Fashion Group to continue to meet and exceed the expectations of its apparel retailing, manufacturing and distribution customers."
