New OBID i-scan mid-range reader

With the OBID i-scan Mid-range reader ID ISC.MR200, FEIG ELECTRONIC offers a reader, supplementing the OBID i-scan 13.56 MHz reader family which identifies ISO 15693-transponders and EPC-tags.

The reader ID ISC.MR200 is offered in an aluminium housing with the protection class IP54; for this reason it is protected against dust, dirt and syringe water and can be used therefore in the industrial background. With a transmitting power of up to 1,7 watt and a reading range up to 70 cm, the ID ISC.MR200 closes the gap between ID ISC.MR100 with reading ranges up to 40 cm and the Long-range reader ID ISC.LR200 (for long range applications with reading ranges up to 140 cm also in the industrial area).

Next to the industry usefulness through the high protection class and the higher transmitting power, the ID ISC.MR200 offers a so-called BRM function. BRM stands for Buffered Read Mode (data filtering and buffering) and guarantees, that the data of already selected transponders are stored between in the reader and will be read only once. This benefit especially exists in applications with bulk recognition (Anticollision): in this case the transmission speed of the data is increased enormously, because always only new selected transponders will be read. The LAN-capable reader (Ethernet) has several digital i/os as well as a so-called antenna diagnosis function that indicates whether an antenna is not adjusted as required.
