Oakland International, a major 3PL servicing the food industry, has chosen Proteus for the new Warehouse Management System. The company has a centrally located site in the UK offering 600,000 sq ft of warehouse space, with storage space for frozen, chilled and ambient food. The company also has a second facility near Dunkirk, France.

A period of rapid growth (60% over the last two years), and predictions that this would continue and accelerate, led the company to re-evaluate its IT systems. It was felt that their current suppliers or the products in use would not be able to provide the level of sophistication and functionality the business would require in the future.

Oakland decided that it would need a system in place that provides comprehensive functionality, a stable platform, whilst nurturing the companys growth plans. Seamless integration between inventory, order processing and warehouse management systems was an essential requirement. Also the company wanted a solution that had proven to be effective in a similar environment.

After a careful and thorough evaluation of the options available in the market, Oakland International selected Proteus Software to be their new IT solution provider due to their extensive experience in developing and implementing integrated solutions. Proteus also has a successful and proven methodology of implementations. This is an essential factor in ensuring that service levels are not impacted during the implementation process.

Both Oakland and Proteus are looking forward to a long term partnership and both parties are confident that the new PROTEUS system will contribute to enhanced levels of service and accuracy more cost effectively.
