The 'Zapper' is a handy device with simple one button operation that eliminates the need for special barcode readers.  It will allow barcode data capture systems to be extended to anyone with a Bluetooth equipped PDA, laptop or mobile phone.    
 
The Zapper measures just 4.5 by 9.0 centimetres and provides a simple scan and send solution that can be used within 10 metres of a connected mobile device. When out of Bluetooth range the scanner can store captured data in it's own 32KB memory for transmission once connection is re-established.
 
The device is manufactured in Japan by Opticon, the device accepts standard AAA alkaline batteries.  The device ships with T-Scan, Opticon's own utility program that manages the placement of scanned data on Bluetooth equipped PDA's (Windows Mobile) or Blackberry solutions.
